I am trying to create a custom report to find integration system names that has integration template that contains "DO NOT USE" phrase.

Should I create a calculated field using the "integration template" field or should i create a filter on instance?

I find the easiest way to get an instance to text is to create a calculated field with the type of Concatenate Text. Just pick the field as the only input.

So in this case you would see this:

Then you can filter it with contains:

And you get your result:
